How spaced repetition works

The app decides on its own which word to show you today and which one in a week. Here’s the principle.

Every word in your deck follows its own schedule. Once you rate a card, NewLexi works out the next review date: the more confident your answer, the further the word moves away.

The interval ladder

The pause before the next review grows step by step: 1, 3, 7, 15, 30, 60 days. Every successful recall moves the word one step further.

Your rating sets the interval

There are four buttons at the bottom of a card: «Forgot», «Hard», «Recall», «Easy». It isn’t a grade for you - it’s a hint for the algorithm.

Why not all the words at once

The daily plan is built from words due today plus a small portion of new ones. Do them all at once and tomorrow’s load doubles - that’s why the daily portion is capped.

Missed a day? Nothing burns down. Overdue words simply go to the front of the next plan.
